Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack found campaigning in rural Ohio in unofficial capacity

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack

As we all know, every vote certainly counts in Ohio. Apparently nobody in the Obama administration is actually working in Washington, they are out campaigning including the Secretary of Agriculture.

Vilsack was spotted in rural Ohio over the weekend out campaigning with former Ohio Director of Agriculture Robert Boggs.

Interestingly enough though, we received no press release or even media advisory. That’s because he didn’t make a formal speech or hold a rally. According to the Lima News, Vilsack said he was doing this on his own time and these were unofficial visits.

It’s obvious to me he was in the area to counter the very successful Romney rally held in western Ohio in early October that was focused around agriculture.

According to the Sidney Daily News Vilsack told a reporter they were traveling western Ohio to share information on “on what Obama programs will mean for Ohio.”

Hmmm….I wonder who picked up the tab for his travels?
