Acting State Executive Director for Ohio’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), David Drake, would like to announce that Sherrill King has been selected as the County Executive Director (CED) for the Pickaway/Franklin County FSA office. Sherrill will begin her new duties on June 17, 2013.
Sherrill began to work for the FSA in 1986 as a Program Technician for Fairfield County. She has been responsible for Compliance, Common Management, Appeals and the Global Information System. Sherrill also assisted with Conservation, Production Adjustment, DCP, Price Support and Disaster programs. In 1996, she departed from FSA to work from home and raise her children.
In 2001, Sherrill started part-time for FSA in Fairfield County as a Program Technician. While working part-time, she enrolled and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. In January 2007, she was selected into the County Operations Trainee (COT) program for Ohio and traveled throughout the state to study FSA programs and learn county office operations. After completing the formal COT training program, Sherrill was stationed in many county offices where she continued to learn from the FSA County office employees.
Late in 2007 she accepted the Conservation Program Technician position at the state office and provided county office staff support for various software problems and technical issues.
Wanting to return to the county level, Sherrill accepted the CED position in Ross County in 2008. Recently, she was chosen by the Pickaway/Franklin county committee to serve as CED. She looks forward to getting involved and serving the producers of Pickaway/Franklin County.
Sherrill, her husband, Mike and their children, Ryan and Taylor reside in Millersport, Ohio.
