I’ve long been a fan of Luke Bryan. While I love his music, especially the songs and lyrics associated with farming and living in the country, I’m a bigger fan of the fact he hasn’t forgotten his farm boy roots.
I’ve heard about his annual Farm Tour, but until today, didn’t realize that the money raised goes to fund scholarship for farm kids.
Luke is farm boy from Leesburg, Georgia where his family raises corn, cotton and peanuts. The tour takes place throughout the south (what a bummer!), with many of the stops taking place in his home state of Georgia.
According to CMT, he launched the series of Farm tour concerts as a way to give back to local farming communities by celebrating and lifting up the American farmer and offering a fun escape with the outdoor shows. The appearances raise money for the Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship. Last year, the shows attracted 100,000 fans and provided eight scholarships to students from farming families within the communities of the tour stops.
Ah, yet another reason to love Luke Bryan…..
