Don Loudenslager, who passed away at the age of 80 in 2014, spent his last several decades visiting sales and auctions amassing thousands of toy tractors, trucks, and other items. About 95% of the collection was up for sale this summer, with hopes by the family that the toys will be put to use in a positive way for many years to come. Apparently, there were many folks who wanted to check it out.
Although many corn yield monitors around Ohio have shown lower than average numbers after a challenging growing season, a few parts of the state were pleasantly surprised with the amount of corn they were taking in this year. Count Preble County farmer Brandon Monebrake among those farmers happy with his 2016 harvest. Ty Higgins dropped in to visit with Monebrake and found more surprises in the cab than the corn yields, including a high-powered way to deal with coyotes.
People flocked to hear Grand Champion Market Beef exhibitor Brooke Egbert, from Auglaize County, talk about how she pulled off another victory at the Ohio State Fair. Caden Jones from Allen County had the Reserve Champion.
Ashton Frey from Upper Sandusky had the Champion Market Barrow and Lea Kimley from South Chaleston had the Reserve Champion Barrow.
Taylor Carr from Athens County had the Grand Champion Market Wether and Paige Pence has the Reserve Champion to kick of the 2016 Ohio State Fair junior market shows.
