Of 24 county Farm Bureaus honored nationwide at the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention for innovative program ideas in the organization’s County Activities of Excellence Awards program, five were from Ohio.
The CAE program acknowledges and shares successful county Farm Bureau programs and activities. This year Ohio was represented by Strong A Partners/Youth Beginner Beekeeper Scholarship program in Adams County; Conservation Day Camp in Shelby County; Farm Fest in the Park in Jackson-Vinton counties; the North Coast Jackpot Show in Ottawa County; and County Farm Bureau Day at the County Fair in Paulding County.
In addition, State Farm Bureaus were presented awards at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 2018 Annual Convention. The awards recognized excellence in implementation of outstanding member programs and membership achievement in 2017.
Ohio was presented with a New Horizon Award that honors states with the most innovative new programs. Ohio also received an Award of Excellence. The Awards of Excellence are awarded to state Farm Bureaus that demonstrate outstanding achievements in four program areas: Advocacy; Engagement and Outreach; Leadership and Business Development; and Membership Value. Ohio Farm Bureau was recognized for excellence in the categories of Advocacy; Engagement and Outreach; Leadership and Business Development; and Membership Value.
