Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters highlights

Macie Schrecengost has been crowned the 40th Columbiana County Dairy Princess. Macie is the daughter of Beth and Eric Schrecengost of Beloit, a senior at West Branch and MCCTC. She will be attending Youngstown State University this fall, majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Macie works part-time at Smithvale Farms.

Schrecengost was crowned at the Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters annual spring banquet at the Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana. There were 21 former Dairy Princesses joining the festivities to help crown the new princess for 2018.

Autumn Whiteleather gave a short report on her reign as the 2017 Columbiana County Dairy Princess. She attended two Holstein shows, had floats in local parades, a display at Minerva Cheese, and attended five local fairs. During the Columbiana County fair she helped with ribbons during the Dairy Show, attended the Cheese Basket sale and worked four shifts at the Ice Cream Barn. She is the daughter Kim Whkoff, North Canton and Jason Whiteleather of Minerva. Autumn is a junior at Minerva High School, active in Band, Dance, Ballet, FFA and 4-H.

This year’s Scholarship winners are Tyler Hephner and Courtney Cooper. Tyler is the son of Tad and Karen Hephner of Leetonia. He is a senior at Leetonia High School and plans to attend The Ohio State Agricultural technical Institute majoring in Agribusiness. Courtney, who served as the 2015 Columbiana County Dairy Princess, is the daughter of Becky and Doug Cooper of Hanoverton. She is a senior at United Local High School and plans on attending the University of Mount Union majoring in Early Childhood Education.

The Buckeye Dairy Boosters mission is to promote and educate the community about the positive impact of dairy products and the dairy industry.
