Melissa Bell named Ohio Pork Council Director of Membership Outreach

The Ohio Pork Council is pleased to welcome Melissa Bell to its staff as the Director of Membership Outreach, beginning May 29, 2018. In this new role, Bell will organize all OPC events and develop or maintain relationships with key investors, members and partners of the organization.

“The Ohio Pork Council is excited to have Melissa join our team,” said Rich Deaton, President, Ohio Pork Council. “We know her experience, talents, and passion for agriculture will be a great addition to our organization.”

Prior to joining OPC, Bell served in various roles within the agriculture industry. Most recently, Bell served as the Sponsorship Development Consultant at the Ohio FFA Foundation, and prior to that as the Executive Director for the Foundation. Formerly, Bell served as the Regional Supervisor and Organizational Director with Ohio Farm Bureau. Bell also worked as the Coordinator of Admissions for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.

Bell received a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Communication from Otterbein University and a Master’s degree in Human and Community Resource Development from The Ohio State University. Currently, Bell is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Agricultural Education at The Ohio State University.

Bell resides in Zanesville, with her husband Matt, on his family’s sixth generation family farm. She is the proud parent of four children, Brady and Reily, 15 year-old twins, Delaney, 11, and Baylor, 3.
