Ohio is experiencing an earlier-than-average risk of crop diseases

According to DTN’s crop disease risk maps, corn fields throughout Ohio are already at a higher risk this year than in the past two years for Gray Leaf Spot, which is a serious crop disease affecting corn plants. Experts are indicating the risk is trending ahead of average by at least 2 weeks. Left untreated, crop diseases put the area’s yields in danger.

The Ohio Ag Net’s Ty Higgins visits with Ben Brame, VP of Ag Platform at DTN, about the maps and how the can be helpful to farmers during an already busy time of year.
