Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, announced the launch of its newly redesigned web site, www.pioneer.com . The site is designed to quickly link growers to local, relevant and timely crop production-focused information. “Our goal is to provide growers access to Pioneer’s industry-leading expertise more quickly and easily,” said Terry Gardner, North American product marketing director for Pioneer.
The most significant change is the convergence of two Pioneer websites: www.pioneer.com and the Pioneer GrowingPoint web site.
“Growers now will be able to access the information that was on the GrowingPoint website without having to sign in,” Gardner said.
Personal data, such as account access, online payments and online recordkeeping remains secure and still requires the user to sign in. Pioneer gathered extensive feedback from growers, customers, Pioneer sales professionals, employees and media to drive the evolution of its Web strategy. The site features a new navigation menu that efficiently organizes information. A rollover feature displays a list of all the topics for each section, making it quicker and easier to locate content with fewer clicks.
“We have incorporated technology that allows us to approximate our users’ location so we can automatically deliver local, relevant information to our customers,” said Michael Boomershine, Pioneer e-business marketing manager. “Growers also can change the location if they operate across a wider geography.”
Besides quicker access to local information, the site features expanded content for livestock feed and nutrition, a best-in-class agronomy library, an upgraded product performance section and more robust weather, marketing information and news.
“We’ve added new partners, including DTN, to provide even more weather, marketing and news, including blogs, videos and commentary,” Boomershine said. “Each week Pro Farmer provides commentary on issues that influence ag markets and policies. Bryce Knorr, Farm Progress analyst, also shares a weekly recap that discusses the commodity markets and offers insight on future developments.

The expanded livestock feed and nutrition section features videos from Pioneer experts and a new library that lets visitors quickly search for information written by Pioneer livestock experts, ranging from management issues to feeding tips.
“We wanted to update the design and take customer engagement to a new level by allowing customers to access information faster and interact with Pioneer FIT services, which include harvest mapping, Pioneer FIT Field Planner, as-planted mapping and online recordkeeping, to help growers match the right genetics and traits to each acre.,” Boomershine said. “Growers should consider www.pioneer.com as the first source for accessing crop, risk and farm management information to help them make profitable management decisions.”
