Miami Trace FFA agronomy students win at the Big E

On Thursday on September 15th, four Miami Trace FFA students went to Boston to compete in the Big E. These students consisted of Landon Gibbs, Judith Straathof, Madison Hisey, and Rachel McClish. They had recently won at State for Agronomy and then had the opportunity to participate in Boston. They worked all summer and at the beginning of the school year to take home the 1st place title. They left for Boston on the 15th of September, and that Friday the 16th the four students competed in the Agronomy test against 5 other schools for the top spot. During the competition students identify various plants, seeds, insects, and diseases by looking at samples of the objects. They also identified different types of hays, and had a team event where the students had to work together to solve different scenarios. That Saturday, was the awards session, and after all of their hard work, the Miami Trace students received 1st place. On top of that, all four students placed in the top four. In 1st, Landon Gibbs, in 2nd, Madison Hisey , in 3rd Judith Straathof, and in 4th Rachel McClish. Congratulations to the Miami Trace Agronomy team, and best of luck to next year.
