The Miami Trace FFA held the annual Consignment Sale on Friday, August 26, 2011. This year, the auction was managed by Schrader Auctions. Nic Cummings, a graduate of Miami Trace FFA, was instrumental in connecting with the Miami Trace FFA Alumni in an effort to expand the potential of the traditional sale. Schrader Auctions have been involved in farm, ranch, timberland, and real estate sales in 38 states. The sale was held at Fayette County Fairgrounds. The sale grossed $579,000 and brought in $200 dollars worth of donations. Schrader Auctions committed 1% of the gross earnings to the Miami Trace FFA Alumni.
The Miami Trace FFA Alumni puts its earnings to good use throughout the school year and the summer. For instance, the Alumni provide many scholarships for Miami Trace FFA seniors. Also, they give money so that FFA members can attend FFA camp and Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. during the summer. The Alumni also help cover transportation costs for field trips. The Miami Trace FFA chapter is very grateful for all that the Alumni does to support our endeavors!
