Mt. Gilead FFA attends National FFA Convention

Members of the Mt. Gilead FFA chapter attended the 84th annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. The group left on Wed. Oct. 19th and returned Sat. Oct. 22nd. Members on the trip included Amanda Evens, Mariah Carry, Makayla McAvoy, Emma Weiss, Amanda Bush, Sarah Hubschman, Jocelyn Ferrington, Keirsten Pangborn, Samantha Appleman, and Brittany Broadwater . Also traveling with Mt. Gilead were members from Highland, Cardington, and Elgin FFA chapters. They visited the Phoenix Bat Company in Plain City, Ohio. They also visited an organic farm in Zionsville, Indiana and an apple orchard in New Castle where they showed the FFA members how their business works. The FFA members attended three sessions at the National Convention where they heard Shannon Norris, Wyatt DeJong, and other 2010-2011 National FFA Officers, they also heard other motivational speakers. They watched other FFA members get Hypnotized and enjoyed a Blake Shelton, Little Big Town and Steel Magnolia Concert. At the eighth session on October 22, they watched Katie Linder the daughter of John and Cheryl Linder receive her American Degree. This event was a great experience for the FFA members. They enjoyed there trip and cannot wait until next year to enjoy another fun time.
