Memorial Day weekend events

The West Holmes FFA hosted the Mid Ohio Lamb Classic on May 26. This is the sixth year the FFA has hosted the Jackpot Lamb Show and this year there were 127 lambs present from all over Ohio and Pennsylvania. The FFA members helped anywhere from being a ring man, an announcer, working in the concession stands and by helping with weigh-ins.

The FFA chapter received a large amount of sponsorship from the following businesses and families; Bell Stores, TMK Farm Supply, Major Lane Center, Schlauch Sheep Farm, Prairie Partners 4-H, Croskey Club Lambs, Classy Critters 4-H, Schlegel Farms, Holmes Oil, Village Motors, Paint Valley Equipment, KSB, Melway Paving, Autoworks Collision Center, The Overholt Family, The Miller Family, West Holmes FFA Members, Lora Howell, The Petalers, Jarrod Webb, DVM, Weaver Leather, Moores Lawn and Garden, Jim & Wendy Baughman/ Tobias and Amber Myers, Sweet Breeze Farms, Holmes Ag Service, Killbuck VFW Post 7079, Trent Insurance Group, Agrisludge, Shearer Equipment, Millersburg Electric,  Four Seasons Flowers and Gifts, Mohican Tavern, Millersburg Tire Service, On the Go Farm, Tom and Kay Klein and Sharon Kozak.

Thank you for your generous support of the chapter and the show. Also, thank you to Marty Overholt, Gene Mumaw, and David Fowler for serving as classifiers, the Holmes County Fair Board for the use of the fairgrounds, and Ann Mumaw for helping run the show.

Members come together for the Memorial Day parade.

The West Holmes FFA also participated in the Nashville Memorial Day Parade. The member that were involved were; Haylee Mackey, Samantha Krejci, Harlie Spurlock, Dylan Holloway, Chris Patterson, Grayson Miller, Mandy Taylor, Dustin Niehaus, Wyatt Gardner, Lexi Kinstle, Liz Overholt, Beth Klein, Brandon Miller, Atlee Miller, James Friend, Kara Leadbetter, Shyann Kick, Megan Miller, and Elise Neville. Thanks to Roger Patterson for use of his truck and trailer for the parade.
