The Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association will serve a Pancake Breakfast to benefit pen facilities for the Millard Ag & Expo building on the Crawford County Fairgrounds.
The breakfast is slated for Saturday December 1, 2012 from 7:00 until 11:00 AM at the Colonel Crawford High School cafeteria in North Robinson. The breakfast will be offered at no charge with a free will offering graciously accepted.
“The Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association members may have shown animals during their youth or have family members involved in the Crawford County Junior Fair. With these connections, our Association strongly supports the 4-H and FFA youth organizations involved with the fair. We have supported the building effort from the outset. And, we look forward to our ongoing support through this fund raising effort,” indicated Earl Smith, President of the Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association.
Tom Laughbaum, Fair Manager described the progress of the pen facilities by commenting, “The completed Millard Ag & Expo Building was utilized for the first time during the 2012 fair. While we had many of the pens completed, more pens are still desired. We also need wagons to better handle and store the pens. We are grateful for ongoing support from groups like the Antique Farm Machinery Association in completing the facilities for the junior fair needs. It is gratifying to see the CAFMA working in cooperation with the youth of our community in this fund raising effort.”
The Junior Fair Board, FFA and 4-H organizations offer immeasurable opportunities for youth to grow and mature through a variety of activities provided through the Crawford County Fair. With hundreds of rural and urban youth competing each year at the fair, it is essential to maintain facilities that adequately accommodate these activities. With loyal community backing, the multi-purpose building will soon be completely outfitted and the CAFMA can further support these youth organizations.
The Junior Fair Board, Colonel Crawford FFA, Buckeye Central FFA, FFA, Wynford FFA and 4-H members will assist the CAFMA in serving the pancake breakfast December 1. Financial support for the breakfast has been underwritten by the following businesses: Colonel Crawford FFA, Scheffler Farms, Schiefer Bins, Smith Family Farm, SunShower Acres, Ltd., Wynford FFA.
