Over seventy FFA students from four schools gathered together for Ohio FFA Leadership Night. This event is conducted by the Ohio FFA Association and the Ohio FFA officers to engage students in learning more about leadership, communication and teamwork.
Ohio FFA District 6 President Jordan Stacy was one of the presenters and the theme for this year’s Leadership Night is “The Man in the Mirror.” Joining Stacy in conducting the event at Southeastern were; Ohio FFA District 10 President, Kayla Starlin, Ohio FFA Treasurer Erin Wollett and Ohio FFA Reporter Daniel Zimmerman. Ohio FFA Leadership Night is sponsored by Monsanto, Dekalb, Asgrow and Sunrise Cooperative.
While students were learning more about themselves and leadership through this event, they also had the opportunity to network with other FFA members and learn from each other about activities in the program. Some may develop friendships that last through their high school years and beyond. The skills they learn and develop enforce those concepts they are learning in school and help to prepare for real life situations beyond the classroom and make a difference.
FFA students from Southeastern, Benjamin Logan, Greenon and Tolles Career and Technical Center were in attendance and enjoyed pizza and refreshments after the event while spending time with the Ohio FFA officers and each other. The group would like to thank Jeff Shawhan and family, who provided pizza for the event; John and Cari Waymire, who provided drinks; and Benjamin Logan FFA, provided bottled water.
Southeastern students who attended were Haley Conway, Kyle James, Ethan Waymire, Hayden Eriksen, Mitchel Shawhan, Jillian Edwards, Jillian Channell, Madison Roddy, Matt Toops, Cory Knox, Danielle Augustus, Stephanie Whetstone, Kylee Henry and Shawn Carpenter.
