On Wednesday, November 17, many members traveled to Amanda-Clearcreek for their annual leadership night. Leadership Night is an FFA event that encourages members to get out of their comfort zone in order to grow as leaders and more successfully serve their chapter and others.
The theme of this year’s leadership night was “True Colors”. The night launched with a personality quiz for each member which sorted them into a personality type characterized by colors. After the members in attendance learned of their true colors, the state officers continued to lead them in activities that taught them to more successfully lead based on their personality type.
Leadership Night was in high attendance this year, not only from members of Zane Trace FFA, but from members all around Southern Ohio. This lead to many opportunities for members of our chapter to network and get to know other members.
“I’m not really a social person, and I get kind of nervous about meeting new people,” said Kaitlyn Beard, a Freshman member who attended Leadership Night. “After Leadership Night, though, I am determined to make new friends and talk to at least one new person at each event. Even if it doesn’t work out, at least I tried!”
It seems that leadership night had a great affect on all who attended. All members learned about themselves, many made new friends, and some even stepped out of their comfort zones for the very first time. In addition, members were also able to send time with some of their favorite state officers, and hear about exciting FFA events to come.
