The Anthony Wayne FFA Chapter held its annual banquet at the Monclova Elementary school in mid-April. Over 250 FFA supporters and members attended this banquet.
At the banquet, the guests enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by D&J Catering. Afterwards they listened to a variety of awards that were handed out to FFA members that went above and beyond in the FFA Chapter.
There were two honorary degree recipients this year, Lonnie and Tracy Perry. The students received outstanding ratings for various works, varying scholarships or a monetary amount that will be used toward their college expenses provided by the AW FFA Alumni and previous fundraisers.
There was a total of 13 students who received these scholarships. After the awards were handed out, District 1 President, Andrew Teet spoke to the crowd about “striking while the iron is hot.” This was followed by senior officer retiring addresses from Lucas Froelich, William Lemle, and Maddison Binkley. The banquet ended with the installation of the 2014-2015 officers and they then performed the closing ceremonies.
