Urbana FFA holds annual Greenhand Ceremony

The Urbana FFA held its annual Greenhand Ceremony on November 11, 2014. The purpose of this meeting is to honor the students who earned their degree. There were 19 FFA members who received this award they were Katrina Allison, Lukas Bishop, Ally Brookover, Austin Colvin, Lillian Daniels, Katie Ethridge, Cheyenne Gunsaulies, Olivia Maurice, JD Nelson, Magdaline Perry, Joe Preston, Berkeley Pyle, Kelsey Quickle, Bailey Ramsey, Addison Ropp, Sierra Ross, Michaela Sparks, Levi Brandyberry and Jerry Springer. In order to receive the greenhand degree they have to be enrolled in an agriculture class, have learned and explained the FFA motto, Creed, and salute, also know the history and guidelines and the official dress, and have an SAE (supervised agricultural experience) plan. There were special guests present such as members from the board of education, members of  Mechanicsburg FFA, and Sidney Snyder. Sidney is the Ohio FFA’s president, and while she was at the ceremony she gave a speech about how important it is to try new things because you never know you may love it and it may be what you wanna do with your life. After the meeting members and guest were invited to go into the Cafeteria to eat cupcakes and have a glass of juice which provided members/parents to meet the teachers and the officer team. A special thanks to all the parents and guest that joined us.
