West Holmes FFA’s Lorentz receives gold rating

The West Holmes FFA chapter is pleased to announce that Justin Lorentz has received a gold rating at the national level for his proficiency project. The gold rating is the second highest rating an applicant can receive nationally.

Justin specializes in turf grass management where he is the proud enterprise owner of Lorentz Lawn Care and Landscaping. This business involves the planting and maintaining of turf for outdoor beautification, providing a lawn mowing service; and improving recreational areas. In the future he plans to work with sport fields or golf course management.

He first started out working five lawns but now has expanded to 32 lawns. He has hopes to get up to 100 lawns in the future. Justin first had to deal with evaluations, which is a process every proficiency applicant must go through, he was first checked through districts, and then state where he was awarded 1st place.

He plans to attend ATI when he graduates to pursue a career in Turf Grass Management and Landscaping.
