Kalmbach Feeds opens state-of-the-art feed plant

A drive down US Route 23 to Upper Sandusky will reveal an imposing and impressive sight in the form of Kalmbach Feeds’ newest feed plant, the Ruth Elizabeth Kalmbach (REK) Facility.

The new feed mill is just south of their existing operations and is made up of a concrete tower standing over 180 feet tall, surrounded by pre-engineered metal buildings for storage and operations.

The facility is notable for more than just its size, boasting a hi-tech operating system with the ability to work with just three main crew operating its command center. Bulk feed processing means a non-stop workload for the plant, which will continue to increase its output volume as time progresses.

Kalmbach introduced the facility to several clients, sponsors, and community members on Thursday.
