On May 24th the West Holmes FFA chapter held their May meeting as well as their adopt a highway program on State Route 39. During the adopt a highway the West Holmes FFA chapter volunteered their time to pick trash off the side of the road, members who helped with the cleanup were Ian Barr, Garrett Fowler, Sarah Irwin, Colby Long, Derek Miller, Wyatt Myers, Madison Pearce-Laferty, Alysa Pringle, Alex Pringle, Jenna Sheldon, and Alexa Tate. The meeting took place later that evening at 7:30 behind the West Holmes Middle school. The meeting was called to order by President Becca Schuch. Opening ceremonies were held and officer reports were given. New business; Pacee Miller moved and Quentin Vehrs seconded to send members to FFA camp. Motion Passed. Cora Crilow moved and Ally Ogi seconded to approve the summer schedule. Motion passed. Keith Hawkins moved and Ian Barr seconded to create a fair booth and pay for supplies. Motion passed. Adam Mast moved and Maison Carter seconded to hold a hog roast and pay for supplies. Motion passed. Jenna Sheldon moved and Hayden Smith seconded to participate in kids day at the fair and pay for supplies. Motion passed. Torrie Savage moved and Casey Ogi seconded to host the 2023 FFA banquet on May 13th. Motion passed. Brody Gindlesberger moved and Wyatt Myers seconded to participate in the farmers market and pay for supplies. Motion passed. Gabby Yates moved and Lexy Starner seconded to use gift cards from Sunrise Cooperative and DB Yummers to pay for the Varsity Club lunch. Motion passed Dakotah Ringwalt moved and Amy Hughes seconded to purchase an iPad for the chapter. Motion passed. Madison Pearce-Laferty moved and Jimmy Lesiak seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. After the meeting was adjourned members enjoyed various games and snacks. Seniors also shared their words of wisdom with underclassmen as they experienced their last meeting.
