Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, March 29, 2024

Milder to finish the week, but we only see good sun for today. Clouds roll in and we expect a couple rounds of moisture from the weekend through early next week. Today we hold off on clouds increasing to much until we get to sunset, and then clouds really build into tomorrow morning. Scattered showers can develop after midnight and will hold through mid afternoon. That wave of moisture will trigger totals of .25″-.75″ with coverage at 75%. We put together a dry stretch from tomorrow night through midday Easter Sunday, but still see plenty of clouds around. Then Easter afternoon through the overnight, through Monday and most of Tuesday we have another wave of moisture coming with with this slow moving system that will bring up to another 1.5″. Combined, from tomorrow through next Tuesday we can expect .75″ to 2.5″ rain totals with coverage at 100% of Ohio. The map below shows our last update on this system. Significant moisture is on the way.

Cooler temps come in behind that front for overnight Tuesday night and Wednesday. Clouds hold firm as well, only breaking late Wednesday evening and overnight. However, we see temps moderate relatively quickly for Thursday through the rest of the week. Sunshine returns and that should set us on a path to see good evaporation and drying. The dryer pattern holds through next friday and the subsequent weekend. In fact, we are projecting that our next round of moisture may hold off until we get closer to the 9th. That also means we should have decent sky conditions for the eclipse on the 8th, at least the way it looks right now.
