Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, June 6, 2024

The bulk of our moisture is already off to the east today, but low pressure and the trailing upper level low will stall out over the eastern Great Lakes this afternoon. This will trigger wrap around moisture coming across Ohio. Most of this will be in the form of cloud cover, but we are going to continue to keep potential for scattered showers today and tomorrow, mostly over far eastern and northeastern parts of the state. Coverage should be 30% or less, and most areas see good drying without the rain.

The weekend is sunny and dry for Saturday, but we have another chance for hit and miss moisture sunday. Coverage will be less than 40%, with potential of a few hundredths to .25″. Again, with no rain, we see good drying, and even where there are the pop up showers, action is minor and we get back to drying very quickly.

Mostly sunny and dry weather dominates next week. The only threat of scattered moisture comes late Wednesday afternoon and evening as a minor disturbance comes across Lake Erie. a few hundredths to a tenth of moisture may develop over the northern third of OH…with nothing farther south. The rest of the week is dry Monday through Saturday. The map below shows cumulative precipitation for next week.

We should expect net drying in most areas for the next 10 days on the whole.
