Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, July 9, 2024

Moisture is working toward OH today with the remains of Beryl coming across southern IL into IN. We likely escape major rain through most of the daytime hours, but will pick up increasing rounds or moisture tonight through tomorrow. The heaviest rains still look to be farther west and north. In OH the best rain totals will be in NW OH, while the rest of the state sees scattered and lighter activity. All told, we will look for .25″-2″ rains with 90% coverage, and the map below shows combined rains today through tomorrow. Today only a few scattered showers develop ahead of the bigger rains tonight.

Thursday turns out partly sunny but still rather humid, and Friday very similar, except for a bit more sun. There still is enough instability lingering that we won’t rule out a pop up shower or t-storm, but coverage will be limited. The weekend turns out mostly sunny and dry. A few thunestors may try to pop up late Sunday afternoon or evening, but generally we see coverage at less than 30%.

Monday of next week is humid with sun followed by clouds. Then we see scattered showers develop later Tuesday afternoon with moisture continuing wednesday into early thursday. That round of precipitation comes from a slow, sagging front that lowers through the Great Lakes and eastern corn belt. All told, we see plenty of moisture here for the entire 10 day forecast window.
