Moisture is building to the north today, with a large slug of rain and thunderstorm action filling in over MI. However, most of Ohio stays dry with partly to mostly sunny skies. Clouds will be increasing in NW Ohio this afternoon and evening. We can see some scattered showers slide south into NW Ohio after sunset and closer to midnight. Once rain starts in NW Ohio, we then see it spread southeast through the state from there through tomorrow and into early Sunday. Rain totals are expected to be from a tenth to half an inch generally, and any thunderstorm can boost totals closer to .75″. Coverage will only be 60%. We take a break from precipitation Sunday.
That break likely extends through late Monday. Moisture will be building to the west over IL and IN, but does not look to get into Ohio until Tuesday midday through early Thursday morning (pre-dawn). Rain totals there look better, at .25″-1″ with 90% coverage. The map below shows 48 hour moisture totals ending at sunrise Thursday.

Drier air returns for next Thursday through Saturday. Showers are likely for Sunday the 14th into early Monday the 15th. Rain is a good bet again later the 17th and 18th, meaning we have good rain chances through mid month, spaced enough to be utilized fully and not excessive.
