Ohio State Fair 50-Club invites longtime fairgoers to August 4 Celebration

If you made memories at the Ohio State Fair anytime within the last 50 years, the 50-Year Club has a seat waiting for you!

The Ohio State Fair 50-Year Club will gather for its annual celebration on Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m., bringing together generations of fairgoers who share a love for one of Ohio’s most treasured traditions. The event this year will be in the new Ohio Showcase Building on the Ohio State Fairgrounds

The morning will be filled with friendship, nostalgia, and entertainment as members reconnect and celebrate the fair’s rich history. Attendees will enjoy performances by the talented Ohio State Fair Youth Choir and Band, showcasing the energy and spirit of Ohio’s next generation. A special highlight of the celebration will be the presentation of the Giant Step Award to Roy Pollard. For more than 30 years, Roy has been a familiar and friendly face at the fair, serving as a shuttle conductor while helping thousands of visitors enjoy their fair experience. His dedication and service embody the spirit that has made the Ohio State Fair a beloved summer tradition.

Governor Mike Dewineis expected to join the 50-Year Club celebration as they look toward the future while honoring the past in a very unique way. This year, the club has partnered with America 250-Ohio to secure a 2026 time capsule in the new Ohio Showcase Building. Filled with a book highlighting all 88 Ohio counties and items representing Ohio life in 2026, the capsule will remain sealed until 2076, offering future generations a glimpse into Ohio’s story today.

Membership in the 50-Year Club is open to anyone who attended the Ohio State Fair within the last 50 years. There are no dues, and family members and friends are welcome to attend.

Whether your memories include livestock shows, midway rides, giant pumpkins, blue-ribbon competitions, or simply a favorite fair treat, the 50-Year Club celebration is a chance to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the traditions that have brought Ohioans together for generations.
