Dry weather over the Buckeye state today as we get our first fill day of rain free weather for the entire state in over a week. Temps stay warm, but not hot, and humidity slightly lower. Clouds will start to build tonight in NW OH, with showers and storms developing there through the overnight. That rain slowly works through the state over the course of Wednesday and Thursday. Rain totals are not all that impressive at .25″-1″ but coverage should get to nearly 90%. The map below shows the 2 day set up. Thursday features clearing in the north, but the rain action lingers in the south.
Friday is partly sunny again, before a weekend that has scattered showers around for Saturday and Sunday. The best rains come overnight Saturday through Sunday afternoon, but we will not rule out action at any point through the weekend. We can see another .25″-1″ with 80% coverage from the weekend rains.
Our weather pattern tries to move drier for next week. We are largely rain free Monday through Friday. That does not mean we will completely rule out some pop up showers, but coverage is very, very minor, and we can not pinpoint where those pop ups turn up. What we can say is that minor instability will be the root cause, and with no major heat, that instability should stay hyper-localized. Much cooler air is likely on the way for the following weekend on strong north flow. This may wring out a bit of moisture, but at this time, we are struggling to see any significant moisture source as the cool air arrives.
