Good sun to start today, but clouds will start to increase in northern and especially NW Ohio this afternoon. A frontal boundary is working through the Great Lakes today, and will sweep through IN later this afternoon and evening. That may trigger some scattered showers late afternoon in the far NW and north central. From there, the front sweeps through OH, and that spreads the threat of showers through the rest of the state into tomorrow. Coverage comes in at about 60%, but with the timing of the frontal passage, we do not expect storms to be a story much at all. The map below shows 24 hour moisture potential ending noon tomorrow.
Dry weather returns for Thursday afternoon and we stay pleasant with full sunshine through the weekend. Next week stays sunny and dry for the first half, but gets a bit warmer.
The second half of next week features a chance of showers returning Wednesday, especially afternoon, and a stronger batch of showers and storms later Friday into Saturday to start the Labor Day Weekend. However, we dry down for Sunday afternoon and then are fully dry for Labor Day Monday. We can look at these rains next week as “finishing rains” in many areas. Temps stay seasonal to finish this week but look to be above normal next week, fueling the rain potential the last part of the week.
