A frontal boundary is finishing up its exit from the state this morning and we settle in with a nice dry pattern again from this afternoon through the weekend and the first part of next week. Sunshine is the dominant weather feature of the stretch, but we stay warm as well. Humidity values start to climb a bit next week. Over the latter part of the weekend and early next week we do have moisture returning to the Great Lakes, but it is not able to sag southward until closer to midweek. Scattered showers will be around each day from next Wednesday afternoon through Sunday. Daily coverage is not that impressive, coming in at 50%, but combined for the 5 day stretch, we end up with nearly 90% coverage on precipitation. Rain totals over the combined period come in at .25″-1″ The map below shows totals from next Wednesday through Sunday.
We should dry down for Labor Day, and stay rain free for Tuesday the 8th. However, from Wednesday the 9th forward, we see a return to instability with very warm air in place and high dewpoints. A strong front develops in that mix of conditions, and we have to keep the door open for some stronger storms and heavier rains for Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th, before trying to get better sunshine to return as we move into the extended forecast window.
