Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, September 1, 2026

Hot and humid conditions settle in over the next several days. We are likely a little drier today and tomorrow, but have rain working its way back into the eastern corn belt to finish the week and for the weekend. Coverage is minor on a daily basis, but from Thursday through Sunday we can end up with .25″-1.5″ rain totals on 80% coverage. The map below shows the scop of the moisture through that period.

Labor Day turns out dry and a bit cooler. Pleasant weather hods through Tuesday before we start to warm up Wednesday. More hot conditions move back in for the last part of next week and the weekend, with scattered showers and storms returning. Similar to what we see this week, daily coverage is somewhat spotty, but we will end up with most parts of the state seeing rain coverage by the end of next weekend. Well above normal temps fuel the rain potential. The week of the 14th will cool off slightly, but can stay active. This pattern for the first half of September will feel more like peak summer over a majority of the state.
