Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, September 10, 2026

A front continues to sag south and east across the region today and will exit Ohio later this afternoon and evening. We can see additional showers today from the frontal passage and a few thunderstorms as well. Additional rain can be up to .75″ with 60% coverage. The northern part of the state should stay mostly precipitation free. Tomorrow will be dry statewide. Then Saturday we see clouds increase and some scattered shower activity backs into the state from the southeast. Coverage is not all that impressive, but we can see a few tenths with coverage at 50% or less, and that coverage mostly in southeast and south central Ohio.

Sunday is partly sunny and Monday we see good sun before clouds start to build late. A frontal boundary is on the way for next Tuesday midday and afternoon, with lingering showers and storms through Wednesday afternoon. That frontal passage can bring .25″-1″ with coverage at 80%. Additional rain and thunderstorm action comes with another bigger system for Thursday night through Friday. That system ahs potential for some strong to severe weather and heavier rains with potential for .5″-1.5″ over nearly 100% of the state.

The weekend of the 19th and 20th is mostly precipitation free and much cooler. The dry weather continues for the first half of the next week. However, we are seeing another large storm complex starting to build over the central and western corn belt at midweek (23rd/24th) which could through some moisture our direction toward the end of that week. The main talking point of this morning’s forecast though will be the 2 significant rain threats next week that likely keep a lot of folks out of the fields, if the system keep their current projected intensity. The map below shows next weeks combined rain potential, as of this morning.
