Unsettled weather remains the key talking point for the rest of this week. Heat blasts in today bringing higher dewpoints and unfriendly humidity with it. That will trigger some instability the farther north you go, where a boundary is setting up over the Great Lakes. That boundary lights up with showers and storms the next few days, and we will see varying degrees of off shoot action sliding down into our neck of the woods. By far NW and north central Ohio are looking at the best totals over the rest of the week, but we are seeing at least 1-2 chances of rain even down into southern Ohio. The pattern changes with a strong front slowly marching across the region from NW to SE from Sunday through next Monday night. That will be the front that brings the best chances of rain to southern OH, but not the only threat. It will also bring a dramatic change in temps, ushering more “fall-like” temps going forward. The map below shows combined rain potential from today through next Monday.

We we turn out mostly sunny, dry and pleasant for the rest of next week from Tuesday through Sunday the 27th. Temps will be normal to slightly below normal, but no humidity. Mornings will be cool, but also with heavy dew – as is typical. A minor front swings through to start the following week, but does not have much of a moisture source. So, while temps look to move higher, precipitation will be widely scattered and limited in scope
