Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, September 21, 2026

Scattered showers continue over a large part of Ohio today to varying degrees of intensity. Rain totals today can be another .25″-.1.5″ over 70% of the state, and the map shows the set up below. We do start to clear out some overnight tonight. Tomorrow turns out partly sunny and humid. Wednesday is largely dry to the west and northwest, but we are seeing some scattered showers back in to the state from the east. This will be more of a story in eastern and southeastern parts of Ohio, but rain totals stay under half an inch, even if some action lingers into the early part of Thursday.

The state dries down significantly to finish the week on Friday and the dry pattern holds through the weekend, through next Monday and Tuesday. Temps will be seasonal, but evaporation comes in at nearly a daily maximum, along with lower humidity. This will allow for very nice drying through the period.

A strong system returns for midweek next wee on Wednesday and Thursday. The front sweeps through Wednesday, but then low pressure looks to get cut off from our steering winds of the jet stream. This means the upper low slows to a crawl across the region for Thursday and into friday. Wrap around clouds can trigger additional showers all the way through friday, brining a system total to .5″-1.5″ and 100% coverage. We go back to a mix of clouds and sun for the weekend of the 3rd and 4th.

The first full week of October (the week of the 5th) starts dry, but we have a weak front working through the Great Lakes for the 6th that may trigger a few showers in far northern Ohio that Tuesday. However the pattern back farther west looks to be precipitation free over most of the Great Plains and western US, and that should give opportunity for a largely dry rest of that week here in Ohio as well.
