Sunny and pleasant to start the week. Happy Labor Day!! Temps stay warm at normal to slightly above normal levels, but will stay well under last weeks heat and humidity. We start to see dewpoints climb at midweek while a frontal boundary churns through the Great Lakes region. That front may throw a few showers or thunderstorms into NW Ohio later Wednesday afternoon, but the majority of the state stays dry until well into the overnight Wednesday night. Rain and thunderstorms move through the rest of the state Thursday and we end up with potential for .5″-2″ over nearly 95% of the state. The map below shows the event totals for this frontal passage late Wednesday through Thursday.

Behind the front we are cooler and drier again for the end of the week and weekend. The dry weather holds through most of next week as well. We will have to watch for some early week action north of the state to drift in on occasion Monday, and then a front slides through Tuesday evening and overnight. However, there is not much moisture to work with there out of either of those threats. Late week much cooler air looks to develop and dive in from the north. That will be our first “cool snap”, although it will not cause any significant problems. It will signal an end to this well above normal temperature pattern. Right now it does NOT look to bring any better moisture potential for that weekend into the week of the 21st.
