Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, September 8, 2026

Dry for Tuesday in Ohio, but we start to see some changes in the pattern at midweek. We have a massive storm complex coming out of the Northern Plains today into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. This system will bring significant rain and Thunderstorms to those areas. The moisture moving into the Great Lakes will bring clouds to northern and NW Ohio tomorrow afternoon with showers and storms to follow rather closely. Precipitation spreads through the rest of the state through the evening and overnight, right on through Thursday. By midnight Thursday night we will likely see combined rain totals at .5″-1.5″ over nearly 100% of the state. The map below shows an updated look at potential from this system sweeping through.

Dry weather returns to finish the week and start the weekend. However, we are starting to see some scattered light moisture lift up from the southeastern US for Saturday late afternoon and evening climbing in to southern Ohio in that window. We wont rule out a few scattered showers there, but only about 30% coverage. The rest of he state is dry. Sunday turns out partly sunny.

Next week is largely dry as well with the best chance of rain coming at midweek. A frontal complex slides through Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, but will be gone by early Wednesday morning. That front can trigger .25″-1″ rain totals over about 80% of the state. We are dry from next Wednesday through the following weekend. We may not see our next round of precipitation until a very significant batch of thunderstorms works in from the west closer to the 22nd/23rd.
