Vermeer adds high-capacity wheel rake to VR Series

A new, high-capacity wheel rake capable of raking 28′ (8.5 m) wide passes – yet nimble enough to maneuver like rakes much smaller in size – is now available from Vermeer

Corporation. The heavy-duty VR1428 is designed to give operators more capacity and the ability to handle more acres in less time, with fewer maintenance issues. It combines smart, streamlined design and functionality with simple, tool-free adjustments, while incorporating outstanding operator conveniences.

“A lot of times with larger scale rakes, the extra width makes it difficult and cumbersome to maneuver,” says Product Manager, Phil Egging. “However, the VR1428 handles much like smaller capacity rakes because of the way it’s closely positioned to the tractor in the raking position. That allows operators to easily maneuver around field corners and obstacles.”

According to Egging, several exclusive design features make the difference – a non-telescoping, non-bolted joint straight tongue (patent pending); a rugged bent tube high-clearance frame, rear frame and fold arms a well as a unique patent-pending rake wheel lift and suspension system.… Continue reading

Vermeer introduces a new generation of Rebel® balers

Twelve years ago, Vermeer introduced the first ever hitch ‘n go baler designed to meet the needs and pocketbooks of producers with low horsepower tractors looking to roll their own highquality round bales.

Today marks the launch of the new Rebel Baler generation, this time with two models – the Rebel 5420 and 5520 Balers – and several significant new features incorporated from larger

Vermeer models, but still maintaining the user-friendly functionality and meeting the lower horsepower requirements of the popular original.

“Because the Rebel Baler has been such a strong leader in its class, we spent a lot of time working on new features that enhanced baler performance, while keeping the functionality simple and the price very competitive,” says Phil Chrisman, Baler Product Manager. “We also wanted to answer a customer need that was not filled with the last Rebel Baler introduction. By offering both 5×4 and 5×5 models, we can now offer a 5×5 baler for owners who do not need the higher capacity balers, but want to produce larger bales at an economical price point.”… Continue reading

Vermeer launches N Series balers

A high-performance round baler, purposefully designed for producers who want capacity, speed and reliability in smaller 5′ x 4′ round bales, is now available from Vermeer. The new Vermeer® 504N, modeled after the Vermeer Super M Series, produces 47″ wide x 60″ diameter (1.2 m x 1.5 m) packages that weigh up to 1200 lbs (544 kg), depending on moisture content.

“We wanted to design a new baler that served the needs of our high production 5′ x 4′ customers,” says Phil Chrisman, Baler Product Manager. “The design team spent a lot of time listening to the needs of customers and incorporated many of the design features from the larger Vermeer Super M Series balers, such as speed, operating efficiency, functionality and reliability.”

According to Chrisman, the new N Series design starts with a large-capacity, five-bar pickup to handle heavy, high-volume windrows. A unique positive roll starting system, combined with the Vermeer bottom drum design, provides reliable starts, aggressive intake at high feed rates and uniform distribution of the core across the entire chamber.… Continue reading

Innovative anhydrous applicator for no-till

AgSynergy™ announces their new patent pending Genesis TRX™ applicators which use a single disk, high speed opener for precision placement of anhydrous ammonia.  This system ensures the least amount of soil disturbance and residue movement when placing nutrients in no-till environments. Among impressive features is an innovative, aggressive sealing system that includes a set of durable 4 ¾” wide rubber track that holds residue stationary while the coulter cuts through into the soil. This holding effect minimizes residue and soil movement for a superior sealing of anhydrous ammonia in a wide range of field conditions. A simple, efficient, easy to adjust, hydraulic down pressure system helps make this possible.   This, combined with a rugged, heavy-duty undercarriage with ¾” thick steel rails and components lubed for life for minimal maintenance, makes the Genesis TRX™ able to withstand hard field use.  The disk blade is heavy-duty 20” x ¼” thick steel followed by a placement knife with shatter-wing, both of which are adjustable to application depths of 4”, 5” or 6”.… Continue reading

High-Capacity SuperFlex Draper Head Designed for New Holland

New Holland has introduced a new SuperFlex draper head specifically designed to match the high capacity of New Holland CR Series Twin Rotor® and CX8000 Series Super-Conventional combines.

“Header designs play an important role in reducing harvesting losses,” says New Holland Cash Crop Marketing Manager Ed Barry. “The new 880CF SuperFlex draper head provides closer cutting and better flotation so farmers can harvest every bit of their valuable crop.”

The 880CF SuperFlex cutterbar draper headers are available in cutting widths of 30′, 35′, 40′ and 45′. The 30′, and 35′ heads feature a single-span, plastic-tine pickup reel while 40′ and 45′ models use a dual-span reel with plastic tines.

A patented, rubber spring flotation system allows the 880CF head to follow ground contours more closely. The rubber torsion springs on each floor support can be adjusted manually to tailor flotation to conditions or to compensate for any cutterbar unevenness.

The six-bat reel smoothly feeds crop to the cutterbar, which cuts cleanly using three-inch guards and overserrated knife sections with 10 teeth per inch. … Continue reading
