Ohio’s Andy White named 2016 World Livestock Auctioneer Champion

Farm Credit Mid-America talks up young farmers in D.C.

Recently, Farm Credit Mid-America officials were in Washington D.C., speaking with Congressmen and encouraging support of the Farm Credit System to serve the needs of young and beginning farmers. The message delivered was that the future of agriculture hinges on a healthy, well-informed incoming generation of farmers. Along with officials, young Farm Credit customers also traveled to D.C. to speak of their success and ambitions for the future.

Farm Credit Mid-America has seen substantial growth in the amount of loans it’s made to young farmers, year over year, which is an encouraging sign and indicator. The Beck’s “Why I Farm” movement hits the road

When Natalina Sents recently graduated from Iowa State University graduate, she wasn’t headed for a full-time job. She was embarking on the journey of a lifetime. Sents is setting out on the Beck’s Why I Farm Road Trip – a year-long, 50 state tour documenting agriculture’s diversity and revealing the untold stories of America’s farmers.

Farmers still trying to plant beans as wheat harvest approaches

Ohio hit the hardest by Soybean Cyst Nematode in 2015

According to a soy checkoff-funded study, Soybean Cyst Nematode or SCN was the biggest yield robber of soybeans nationwide in 2015 with 109 million bushels lost. Ohio was the state that was hit the hardest by SCN in last year.
