Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, August 17, 2026

We get to take a bit of a break from significant rain for a couple of days to start this week. This break starts right away first thing in the northern half of the state, while we have to wait for some lingering action to move out to the south and east this morning and midday over the southern half of the state. We stay warm and very humid here in the near term in all areas, though. Today and tomorrow turn out partly sunny (eventually) and very humid. Clouds will increase Wednesday with scattered showers and storms developing through the day. Rain and thunderstorms linger Thursday as well, but seem to focus more on the southern half of the state. We are done with precipitation by Friday morning. Combined Wednesday-Thursday rain potential is shown on the map below. We stay precipitation free Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Scattered showers are back for Sunday, but only with about 50% coverage. The rest of next week stays warm and humid, with pop up showers likely on a couple of occasions through the week. The best chances come Monday late through Tuesday, and then again Thursday, but honestly we wont rule out action any day. The chances are higher in the eastern half of the state over the west.

Rain chances go away for the last full weekend of august, and we see cooler Canadian air break loose, sliding southwest into Ohio and the eastern corn belt in general. That should keep dry weather into the first week of September, or at least the pattern of decreasing available moisture.
