Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, June 26, 2026

Scattered showers and storms will develop across Ohio today, but will take their time initially. A strong storm complex exited the central plains into southern IA and northern MO overnight and is streaking through IL to start today. Rains push into Indiana by midday, and by mid afternoon we can see rains in west and southwestern parts of Ohio. From there, the action continues to advance and spread through the rest of the state tonight and tomorrow. There will be strong storms embedded in this system and those likely try to push in later this evening and for the overnight, mostly central and SW parts of Ohio. Rain totals can be from .25″ on the low end up in far northern parts of Ohio to 2″+ in parts of Southern Ohio. The map below shows event rain totals through tomorrow evening.

After the rain is done, we start to see some significant warming. Sunday is warmer and definitely more humid. We should be precipitation free. We turn out sunny, hot and humid Monday through friday next week with no rain chances either, except for the odd pop up thunderstorm that may come out of heat based instability. That potential is very low. A large upper level ridge will be settling in over the central corn belt next week, and that will steer any significant precipitation threat much farther north.

The weekend of July 4th and 5th we see better organized thunderstorm potential, but only with about 50% coverage. We stay very warm and very humid, so these storms look to be more of a cut off pop up variety than anything else. They can give a up to a half inch in areas that see rain. But, there will be plenty of holes. Heat and humidity hold through the week of the 6th as well. The best chance of action that week comes Tuesday night and Wednesday, but we look for chances of scattered thunderstorms in some part of the state likely every day, bolstered by the heat and humidity. However, daily coverage again will likely be 40% or less.
